PROBLEM: Most people hate hard water, and the inconvenience of high mineral levels associated with it. One of the solutions to lime scale build up is a typical ion exchange system or a typical water softener… PROBLEM. This type system has been pushed by salt manufacturers for decades, but the consciousness of the public is now being alerted to three major drawbacks with typical water softener systems.
PROBLEM 1: Damage to your pocketbook. The high initial cost ranging from $400 - $5000 and the continued expense of keeping the system supplied with salt as well as ongoing repair and maintenance costs.
PROBLEM 2: Damage to you. High salt levels are sent downstream to you, the consumer, as a result of “softened” water. This can cause hypertension and other health related issues, plus your body is being deprived of the natural minerals in the water. You need vital water, not “dead water” with high sodium in it.
PROBLEM 3: Damage to our environment and sewage treatment systems. California, Texas, Montana, and several other states have banned or restricted the usage of water softeners.
When salt is discharged from a water softener during the regeneration process, a heavy brine solution is discharged (up to 25 gallons of brine per regeneration) into your septic system, or to a sewer treatment plant. The salt adheres to the soil as it is leached from the septic tank to the ground. This destroys the ability for plants to grow nearby, and can travel into the water table and then ruin your source of drinking water and your aquatic life. Sewer treatment discharge with high salt levels can effectively raise the chlorine in the water systems, this kills everything….BIG PROBLEM.
What can we do?
SOLUTION: Magna-flexx 2500. The natural permanent magnetic water conditioner / water softener substitute.
SOLUTION 1: The Cost for Magna-flexx 2500 -$39 per set*. For less than a meal at a good restaurant, you can relieve the problems and annoyances of high mineral levels in your household water permanently –Magna-flexx 2500 never needs replacing.
SOLUTION 2: No salt added. The natural healthy minerals are not taken away from your diet either.
SOLUTION 3: No dead crops or fish. No added salt to the water means nothing to worry about on the other end. The world will thank you; your city will thank you; and your crops and fish will thank you…YES!!
Simple Explanation of Water Softeners
How does a Water Softener work? Simplified.
Ionic Exchange: The typical water softener has a tank with plastic beads in it, the beads (zeolite) are saturated (coated) with salt.
The calcium & magnesium rich water runs through the beads in the tank and they are more attracted to the beads than the salt that is already there; so they knock the salt off and grab the beads themselves. The salt is sent downstream to your house instead of the lime scale, calcium and magnesium.
Water Softener Regeneration:
When the beads in the tank can't hold any more Calcium or Magnesium, the other tank with the salty brine solution is opened up and the brine solution is flooded into the tank with the beads in it. The brine is more attracted to the beads than the calcium and magnesium, so they get knocked off the zeolite (beads) and the salt is once again coating the beads.
Magnetic Mineral Treatment / Conditioner
How does a Magnetic Mineral Conditioner work? Simplified:
The minerals in the water adhere to each other, and don't stick to the pipes or fixtures.
Electromagnetic do just the opposite, the make all the minerals reject each other.
Either way, you get the same end result. THAT'S IT IN A NUTSHELL!
How does a Magnetic Mineral Conditioner work? Scientific:
"When ions pass through the magnetic field, a force is exerted on each ion. The forces on ions of opposite charges are in opposite directions. The redirection of the particles tends to increase the frequency with which ions of opposite charge collide and combine to form a mineral precipitate, or insoluble compound. Since this reaction takes place in a low-temperature region of a heat exchange system, the scale formed is non-adherent." 1998 U.S. Department of Energy Federal Technology Alert

What
is Magna-flexx?
Magna-flexx is a new, high energy (2500+ average gauss), flexible permanent
magnetic
material with a special magnetic polarity orientation (Patent pending).
It has
a waterproof, self-
adhesive side, for easy installation. Magna-flexx is
low in cost, needs no power
to operate, has no moving parts, and works on
all types of pipe. It is a Strontium Ferrite based and lasts virtually forever.
Magna-flexx is composed
of Strontium-Ferrite -A PERMANENT MAGNET.
Presently the true significance
of MAGNETISM is coming to light,
literally.
For example:
What happens when a copper conductor is passed through a magnetic
field?
ELECTRICITY IS CREATED!! Copper is not magnetic, yet the
magnetic field
certainly effects the copper by moving electrons
through the wire . This
movement of electrons generates an electrical
current. CONVERSELY, If
you wrap a wire around an iron rod
and electrify the wire, you MAGNETIZE
THE ROD! This is a fact of
nature and occurs at the atomic level of the
process.
All
energy is electric by nature, and everything is effected by
electromagnetism.

Sources of Hardness Minerals
in Drinking Water:
Forty-seven percent of the United States depend on ground water for
their
basic drinking water supply.
Water is a good solvent and picks up impurities easily.
Pure water --
tasteless, colorless, and odorless -- is often called the
universal
solvent. When water is combined with carbon dioxide to form
very weak carbonic acid, an even better solvent results. As water
moves
through soil and rock, it dissolves very small amounts of
minerals and
holds them in solution. Calcium and magnesium
dissolved in water are the
two most common minerals that make
water "hard." The degree
of hardness becomes greater as the
calcium and magnesium content increases
and is related to the
concentration of multivalent cations dissolved in
the water.
How do I test for
hard water?
If you are on a municipal water system, the water supplier
can tell
you the hardness level of the water. There are commercial water
testing facilities that will test your water for a fee. Many companies
that sell water treatment equipment offer hardness tests. When
using these
water tests, be certain you understand the nature
of the test, the water
condition being measured, and the significance
of the test results.
Government Agencies and Magnetic Information:
Using Magnetic Conditioners to condition
minerals in water has been
used for 40+ years throughout many parts
of the world. Many agencies have
reported about the use of
Magnetic Mineral Conditioners, including the Federal
Trade Commission,
U.S. Dept. of Energy, U.S. Department of Commerce, American
Chemistry Society, American Society of Heating and Air Conditioning
Engineers.
U.S. Dept. of Energy Report
What softener options are available?
There are three ways to help control water hardness: use a
packaged water
softener (2 types available), a mechanical
water softening unit.
Packaged water softeners are chemicals that
help control
water hardness. They fall into two categories: precipitating
and non-precipitating.
Precipitating water softeners include washing
soda and borax.
These products form an insoluble precipitate with calcium
and
magnesium ions. The mineral ions then cannot interfere with
cleaning
efficiency, but the precipitate makes water cloudy
and can build up on
surfaces .Precipitating water softeners
increase alkalinity of the cleaning
solution and this may damage
skin and other materials being cleaned.
Non-precipitating water softeners use complex
phosphates
to sequester calcium and magnesium ions.
There is no precipitate to form deposits and alkalinity is
not increased.
If used in enough quantity, non-precipitating
water softeners will help
dissolve soap curd for a period of time.
What
about a Salt Water Softener?
A Water Softener which uses salt, is the most common type
water softener.
These type of water softeners have many
disadvantages. Salt systems are
expensive and require a lot
of work, time and money loading salt every
few weeks. If you
have ever owned one, you know exactly what I am talking
about.
Maintenance and repair can be very expensive. They take up space
in an area that is usually already overcrowded. Your water will have
a
bad taste. Your water feels slimy. The high levels of sodium that
a water
softener leaves in the water supply are unhealthy. They
are not environmentally
friendly. In many areas the use of salt
systems has become banned or restricted
because of the salt
brine solution that is dumped into the sewer system.
According to the
Water Quality Association (WQA), the ion
exchange softening process adds
sodium at the rate of about
8 mg/liter for each grain of hardness removed
per gallon of water.
For example, if the water has a hardness of 10 grains per gallon,
it
will contain about 80 mg/liter of sodium after being softened in
an ion
exchange water softener if all hardness minerals are removed.
Because of the sodium content of softened water, some individuals
may
be advised by their physician, not to install water softeners,
to soften
only hot water or to bypass the water softener with a
cold water line
to provide un softened water for drinking and
cooking; usually to a separate
faucet at the kitchen sink.
Mechanically softened water is not recommended for watering
plants, lawns,
and gardens due to its sodium content.
Is hard water unhealthy to drink?
Absolutely not!
There have been several studies done on this subject, the truth
is that
the calcium and magnesium are important minerals for us
to consume. In
fact, a case study on Alzheimer's Disease shows
that an abnormally low
amount of magnesium is present in patients
with the disease.
So the fact is, we need the minerals that are present in our water
to
help preserve good health.

HISTORY OF MAGNETIC STONES (LODE STONES)
AND THEIR EFFECTS ON WATER
In BC IV, Hermes, one of the supreme priests and Ruler of Egypt stated
that magnetic and light energies were the basis of physical nature of
humans. Thus, if a human being could learn and understand the nature
of magnetism (Life) and wave (Light) he would have entered eternity.
With the knowledge based on magnetism of Earth and universe Hermes
extended a calendar year from 360 up to 365 days.
Ancient doctors of China and India paid great attention to magnets and
magnetism. They called magnets the "Sympathetic Stone". Regrettably,
many of old Chinese and Indian methods of treatment by magnets were
lost and never reached the present day.
Since the turn of the 19th century, literature has cited the effects of
lodestones and naturally occurring magnetic mineral formations. The
formation of Hardness and Scale was noticeably reduced in laundry
and cooking when this "magnetically" treated water was used.
In Europe for past 40 years, magnets have been an Economical as
well as an Ecological approach to dealing with the Scaling and
Mineral formation problems associated with hard water.
Indications of Hard Water:Do I Have Hard Water?
Hard water interferes with almost every cleaning task from laundering
and dishwashing to bathing and personal grooming.
Clothes laundered
in hard water may look dingy and feel harsh and scratchy. Dishes and
glasses may be spotted when dry. Hard water may cause a film on
glass shower doors, shower walls, bathtubs, sinks, faucets, etc.
Hair
washed in hard water may feel sticky and look dull.
Water flow may
be reduced by deposits in pipes.
Dealing with hard water problems in the home can be a nuisance. The
amount of hardness minerals in water affects the amount of soap
and detergent necessary for cleaning.
Soap used in hard water combines
with the minerals to form a sticky soap curd. Some synthetic detergents
are less effective in hard water because the active ingredient is partially
inactivated by hardness, even though it stays dissolved. Bathing with
soap in hard water leaves a film of sticky soap curd on the skin. The
film may prevent removal of soil and bacteria.
Soap curd interferes
with the return of skin to its normal, slightly acid condition, and may
lead to irritation. Soap curd on hair may make it dull, lifeless and
difficult to manage.
When doing laundry in hard water, soap curds lodge in fabric during
washing to make fabric stiff and rough. Incomplete soil removal from
laundry causes graying of white fabric and the loss of brightness in
colors.
A sour odor can develop in clothes.
Continuous laundering
in hard water can shorten the life of clothes. In addition, soap curds
can deposit on dishes, bathtubs and showers, and all water fixtures.
Hard water also contributes to inefficient and costly operation of
water using appliances. Heated hard water forms a scale of calcium
and magnesium minerals that can contribute to the inefficient
operation or failure of water using appliances. Pipes can become
clogged with scale that reduces water flow and ultimately requires
pipe replacement.
Fact: salt water softeners have been banned from Santa Clarita and it
is illegal to buy, or use these in the valley.
Fact: chlorides from salt, pollute and destroy the aquatic life when
released downstream.
Fact: It is Illegal in Montana to use a Salt Based Water Softener on a
septic system.
